About the role
About the Position:
We are engaging results-driven Business Development Partners to grow revenue within territory through face-to-face business development. This is a field-based, revenue-producing engagement for someone who enjoys prospecting in person, opening new accounts, building relationships with owners and buyers, and negotiating on site. You will identify and win new B2B customers within your territory, then develop the accounts you open into repeat, growing business. You plan your own visits, routing, and schedule. GW Products does not set call quotas, visit counts, required hours, or check-in times. The engagement is measured on the revenue and new accounts you produce. We are particularly interested in candidates who understand independent retail, convenience stores, wholesalers, distributors, specialty retailers, and multi-location businesses. This role is field base, with a preference for candidates based in North Carolina, Nevada, Colorado, Las Vagas & TX.
Key Responsibilities:
Territory Development● Own the agreed revenue and new-account outcomes within an assigned geographic territory.● Develop and execute your own territory plan, including which customers to target and when to approach them.● Identify high-potential markets, customers, and business opportunities within the territory.● Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective B2B customers.● Expand market coverage and GW Products’ presence within the territory. New Business Development● Prospect for new B2B customers through in-person visits, calls, email, networking, referrals, and direct outreach.● Identify and engage business owners, buyers, purchasing managers, and other decision-makers on site.● Conduct product presentations and demonstrations at customer locations.● Generate quotations and negotiate commercial terms.● Convert qualified prospects into active purchasing customers.● Achieve the agreed new-account and revenue outcomes. Account Development● Build durable relationships with the customers you open in your territory.● Understand customer purchasing patterns, business needs, and growth opportunities.● Increase order frequency, average account value, and product penetration.● Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities.● Re-engage inactive or underperforming accounts.● Support customer retention and long-term account growth. Pipeline & Commercial Reporting● Maintain an accurate and active sales pipeline.● Provide accurate sales forecasts and territory updates.● Prioritize opportunities based on revenue potential and probability of conversion.● Deliver accurate customer, opportunity, quotation, and order records through the designated systems as a contract deliverable. Market Intelligence● Monitor competitors, pricing, products, and market developments within your territory.● Identify emerging customer needs and market opportunities.● Provide commercial feedback on customer demand and competitive activity.● Develop an understanding of the local retail and distribution landscape. Performance Measures Compensation and continuation of the engagement are based on agreed commercial outcomes, including:● Territory revenue● Revenue growth● New B2B accounts opened● Gross profit / commercial performance● Active customer growth● Sales pipeline development● Prospect-to-customer conversion● Customer retention and repeat purchasing● Average account value● Upselling and cross-selling● Forecast accuracy Requirements● 1+ year of sales experience in any sector, including B2B, field, inside, retail, or business development sales.● Demonstrated ability to open new customer accounts.● Comfortable prospecting in person and approaching businesses without an appointment.● Strong negotiation, objection-handling, and closing capabilities.● Ability to independently plan and manage a geographic territory without day-to-day direction.● Strong relationship-building and account-management skills.● Experience managing a sales pipeline and maintaining consistent follow-up.● Professional written and verbal English communication sufficient to conduct commercial negotiations with U.S. business customers.● Able to work with CRM, ERP, and other business software.● Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and other business productivity tools.● Self-motivated and able to operate as an independent business.● Valid U.S. driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle you provide yourself.● Vehicle insurance meeting at least the minimum requirements of your state.● Willing to travel within your assigned territory, including occasional overnight travel, at your own cost.● Currently residing in the United States, within or adjacent to the assigned territory. Strongly Preferred● Experience in wholesale distribution, B2B marketplaces, consumer products, CPG/FMCG, convenience retail, retail supply, logistics, or related industries.● Experience selling to independent retailers, convenience stores, wholesalers, distributors, specialty retailers, licensed regulated-product retailers, or multi-location businesses.● Existing relationships within the assigned retail or distribution market.● Experience opening a territory from the ground up.● Experience with field-based or route-based B2B selling.● Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce, Hub Spot, GoHigh Level, Zoho, or similar.● Experience with Odoo ERP or another enterprise ERP platform.● Experience using sales dialers, automation platforms, and AI-powered sales tools.● Experience working within a fast-growing distribution, marketplace, or technology-driven business.
