Our client, Purpose Brand is an award-winning public relations, brand, marketing and full-service communications agency in Chicago. We help companies, brands and organizations put purpose into practice—making brands more relevant and stakeholder communities stronger. Our services include brand and strategy development, media and public relations, content strategy and creation, marketing, social media, web design and development, public engagement, special events and training. This role is a combination of working remotely along with visits to client locations as needed. We are seeking an entrepreneurial, strategic and resourceful Integrated Communications Account Executive to manage and support multifaceted client accounts across corporate, nonprofit and government sectors. This position combines account management, public relations, branding and integrated marketing responsibilities. The ideal candidate is an exceptional communicator and strategic thinker who can independently manage accounts, advise clients, lead internal teams and help develop and execute communications programs across multiple channels. The successful candidate will understand how public relations fits within a broader marketing and communications strategy and will be equally comfortable developing the big-picture approach and rolling up their sleeves to ensure day-to-day activities are completed. This person must learn quickly, follow through consistently and remain highly organized and productive while managing multiple priorities.
Responsibilities:
● Serve as a primary client contact and provide a high caliber of client service, strategic counsel and day-to-day account leadership.● Travel to client locations for meetings, events and for other client-relations needs (when needed).● Develop a deep understanding of each client’s brand, communications goals, market position, competitive landscape and stakeholder audiences.● Lead and co-develop integrated communications strategies and plans that incorporate public relations, branding, content, digital marketing, social media, community engagement and other relevant channels.● Independently manage accounts and oversee the development and execution of strategic programs, campaigns and initiatives.● Manage account scopes, schedules, budgets, hours and resources to ensure work remains on track and within budget.● Guide overall media strategies and campaigns, including identifying opportunities, developing story angles and maintaining relationships with members of the press.● Develop compelling narratives that connect complex projects, organizational priorities and community impact.● Draft and oversee the development of press releases, media materials, presentations, speeches, social media content, newsletters, collateral and other communications materials.● Work with subject-matter experts to guide integrated go-to-market strategies, including events, community engagement, social media, web development, collateral and content development.● Coordinate with staff, clients, community organizations and external partners to bring communications initiatives to market.● Ensure communications strategies reflect the needs and perspectives of diverse audiences and identify the channels most likely to reach and engage them.● Oversee internal account teams and ensure assignments, responsibilities, deadlines and expectations are clearly communicated.● Provide training, guidance and development opportunities for junior-level staff.● Ensure accounts are properly supported, deliverables meet Purpose Brand’s quality standards and agreed-upon results are achieved.● Analyze campaign and account results, identify insights and refine strategies based on performance.● Monitor client industries, relevant news, emerging issues and communications trends.● Attend networking, industry and community events as appropriate.● Identify prospective business opportunities and help establish relationships with key decision-makers.● Support website development, optimization or maintenance efforts when included within the client’s communications program. Requirements● Must travel to client locations for meetings, events and other client-relations needs.● Great technical mind with the ability to quickly grasp and communicate complex principles, from technical infrastructure and economic impact studies to crisis management insights.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in a relevant field.● Experience developing and executing integrated marketing and communications initiatives.● 3-5 years B2B and B2C public relations, media relations, corporate communications or integrated communications● 3 years experience at a top 4 public relations firm preferred● 2 years CPG brand manager experience a plus● Excellent written and oral communication skills, with knowledge of AP writing style.● Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Power Point, Word and Excel.● Proficiency in Google Workspace.● Extremely detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.● Community engagement experience is a plus.● Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work well with others.● Bilingual Spanish-speaking ideal● Strong note taker (when recording is not available)Benefits● Full health, vision and dental coverage● 401(k)
