About the role

Job Description
About Us: Southwest Truck Driver Training Inc. is a family-owned career training organization with more than 25 years of success serving students and employers from our Phoenix and Tucson campuses. Now led by the second generation, we provide a supportive, energetic, and results-oriented environment where students and employees can thrive. The Business Development Representative develops strategic relationships with organizations that employee CDL drivers, including trucking companies, logistics providers, distribution operations, and commercial fleets. This role creates employer partnerships that support workforce needs, strengthens hiring pipeline, and contributes to enrollment growth for SWTDT training programs.
Key Responsibilities: Identify, research, and engage businesses that employ or need CDL-licensed drivers. Build and maintain strong relationships with HR leaders, fleet directors, and logistics executives and other hiring decision makers. Develop employer-focused workforce solutions, including training sponsorships, tuition reimbursement arrangements, and direct hire pipelines. Partner with the admissions and placement teams to align training capacity, student opportunities and employer demand. Attend relevant networking events, trade shows, and association meetings as needed to expand SWTDT’s presence and generate qualified leads. Maintain accurate employer contacts, activities, meetings, and partnership outcomes in the company’s CRM system. Meet or exceed monthly goals for new employer partnerships and signed agreements. Gather and report market and industry intelligence to help shape strategic growth initiatives.
Required Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience in business-to-business sales, workforce development, recruiting, or transportation/logistics partnerships. Demonstrated ability to generate leads, develop a pipeline, and close partnership agreements. Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Self-directed workstyle with excellent time management and organizational skills. Familiarity with the trucking and logistics industry and/or CDL licensing process is a strong plus. High school diploma or GED required.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of the trucking and logistics industry or the CDL licensing and training process. Established relationships with transportation companies, freight brokers, or distribution centers or commercial fleet operators. Experience in staffing, recruiting, workforce training, or employer-services programs. Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills. Veteran status a plus
Why Join Us: Competitive starting pay with uncapped commissions. Benefits package. Opportunity to shape regional partnerships and make a direct impact. Collaborative, mission-driven team environment. For more information, visit SWTDT.com.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
